Karuzela Kołowa Trzmiel
Round carousel with a galvanised steel platform, handrails and a central post with a steering wheel.
Made in Rogowo, Poland, since 2011
We make our playground carousels in one workshop, from the same steel and to the same standard: EN 1176. The three builds differ in who uses them and how many children get on at once, not in how they are made. Every unit ships with its certificate, declaration of conformity and technical file, by courier anywhere in Poland free of charge, in 7 working days.
This page puts all three playground carousels in one table and says which one suits a municipal playground, which a nursery and which a housing estate. Prices are stated openly, with no "ask for a quote", so a printout of this page is enough for a market check.
Three carousels and a seesaw. The seesaw is shown alongside because it most often travels in the same order as the round carousel: the carousel for the older children, the seesaw for the youngest.
Round carousel with a galvanised steel platform, handrails and a central post with a steering wheel.
Four seats set crosswise on a steel frame, a low structure that is easy to get on and off.
A round perforated sheet platform, plain in form and cheap to maintain.
A classic seesaw for two children, moving seats with handles on a steel beam.
Load capacity is the combined weight of all children on the unit at one time. The safety zone is the clear ground around the unit that PN-EN 1176 requires.

All three spin the same way. The difference is who rides them and who cleans the playground afterwards.
On a playground nobody visits every day, the disc carousel works best. Its perforated sheet platform lets water and leaves fall through, so the unit is usable straight after rain and there is nothing to clear out in autumn. Where many children use the playground at once, choose the round carousel Trzmiel: load up to 200 kg and a handrail all the way round for the younger ones to hold.
Nurseries most often take the cross carousel. The frame is low, so a three year old gets on and off alone, without climbing. Four separate seats mean four children: the teacher sees at a glance how many are riding. One thing worth knowing before you buy: under trees, leaves blow in between the seats. At a primary school, where ten year olds ride as well, the round or disc carousel is the better fit, both rated up to age 14.
On an estate or at a resort the carousel serves a wide age range, from three year olds to primary school children, and several at once in season. The round carousel Trzmiel has the highest load capacity in our range and takes children both on the seats and standing at the rail. If the budget stretches to two units, a seesaw works better than a second carousel: it takes the two youngest out of the queue.
A side by side table, plus the pros and cons of each build after two seasons of use.
How to turn a 160–200 kg load rating into a number of children of a given age, and why an adult upsets the sum.
A 150 × 150 cm carousel needs 550 × 550 cm of clear ground. Where that figure comes from and what may not stand in the zone.
Prices are stated openly; the current figures are in the table above and on every product page. The disc and cross carousels cost just under 5 000 zł, the round carousel Trzmiel just under 6 000 zł. The price includes the EN 1176 certificate, declaration of conformity, technical file and courier delivery within Poland. Concrete for the foundation and optional assembly by our crew (2,50 zł per km one way from Rogowo) are extra.
The round one has a platform with a handrail all round and a post with a steering wheel, the highest load (up to 200 kg) and takes the most children. The cross one has four separate seats on a low frame and is the easiest for three year olds to board. The disc one has a round perforated sheet platform that lets water and leaves through, so it needs the least cleaning. The standard, the certificate and the safety zone are the same for all three.
The footprint of the unit plus 2 metres on every side. A 150 × 150 cm carousel therefore needs 550 × 550 cm of ground, over 30 m². No fence, bench, bin, tree or other unit may stand in that zone. The zones of a carousel and a seesaw must not overlap.
It depends on the free fall height. The standard calls for impact attenuating surfacing above 60 cm, and platform carousels usually come in at around 45 cm, so they can stand on grass. The foundation has to be concreted regardless of the surfacing. We confirm the fall height for a given model before you order.
Yes, every carousel has a certificate to EN 1176 and a declaration of conformity. The unit ships with the assembly manual including the foundation drawing, the full technical file and the invoice. That is the set a handover at a municipality, school or nursery calls for. The handover also needs a post-installation inspection report, drawn up after assembly by whoever accepts the playground.
